UHF give concert at Fisherman's Party in Albufeira

Albufeira also celebrates the fishing community with gastronomy

The UHF band will give a concert on the 9th of September, as part of the Festas do Pescador, in Albufeira. 

Every year, «the Praça do Pescador dresses up to honor the people of the sea and the fishing traditions», according to the City Council of Albufeira.

This year is no exception and the event takes place from the 7th to the 9th of September, «offering visitors a huge camp that brings together visitors and tourists in a lively atmosphere, with local associations presenting the best of the region's cuisine, where it won't go. lack of xerém, cuttlefish with ink, assorted seafood, savory horse mackerel, búzios feijoada, cataplana, fish stew and the so famous regional sweets – especially domrodrigos and fig, almond and carob cakes» .

The Festival opens its doors this Friday, the 7th, at 18 pm, and, at 00 pm, José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, «accompanied by members of the council and some representatives of various entities in the municipality, makes the usual visit to the contest».

At night, after tasting the delicacies, attention turns to the stage, which will host the “Duo 64”, inviting «all to dance with its repertoire of popular music, which will be followed by the performance of Brazilian artist Edna Pimenta» .

On Saturday, the 8th, the Fisherman's Festival is dedicated to the XXII Albufeira Folklore Festival, highlighting the wealth of costumes, dances and the most genuine songs from ranches in various parts of the country.

Acting will be the Folklore Group for Children and Youth of Santa Clara-a-Nova and Gomes de Aires (Almodôvar), Folklore Group of Madalena (Vila Nova de Gaia), Typical Lavadeiras Ranch of Aboim da Nóbrega (Vila Verde) and the Albufeira Folklore Ranch.

On Sunday, the 9th, the “Duo 64” will once again assume the first part of the night's show, which will close with the UHF. The mythical Portuguese rock band, by António Manuel Ribeiro, promises to play hits like “Cavalos de Corrida” and “Menina estás à window”.

On this last day, the contest “7 Maravilhas à Mesa” will also be highlighted, with the crowd passing through the stage of Praça dos Pescadores to appeal to vote at the table in Albufeira and Olhos de Água, which will compete in the final next day September 16.
