Miguel Araújo, Mário Laginha and Pedro Burmester are some of the artists who will give concerts, in October, at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro.
This «intense and eclectic» program, according to Teatro das Figuras, begins with the commemoration of World Music Day (October 1st), at 21 pm, with “O Concerto para Dois Pianos”, which brings together Mário Laginha and Pedro Burmester.
The concert is "a rare opportunity to watch the new show by this pair of pianists, premiered in January this year, and witness live the virtuosity, but also the friendship and complicity that has united them for more than 20 years."
On the 6th, at 21 pm, and under the aegis of the Greek muse of Terpsicore dance, the Algarve Dance Company celebrates this form of art, in a gala in which, in addition to this company, the main dancers of several European dance companies will be presented.
On the 8th, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, and on the 10th, at 10:00 am and 15:00 pm, Teatro de Ferro, a reference structure in puppet theater in Portugal, promotes a workshop introduction to the manipulation of puppets and presents the play Sleeping Beauty, a recreation of the classic of children's literature.
On the 13th, at 21:30 pm, and the 18th, the highlight is comedy, with Cinco Lesbians and Uma Quiche, a play that portrays America in the 50s.
On the 18th, also at 21 pm, “My Country is Worse Than Yours” will be presented, “a fun exercise in comparing the reality and culture of Portugal and Brazil, created and interpreted by Maurício Meirelles, one of the most relevant Brazilian humorists and António Raminhos».
From the 15th to the 19th of October, at 18:00 pm, Luciano Amarelo will lead a workshop that leads participants “In Search of Your Own Clown”.
On October 20th at 10:30 am and at 11:30 am, the concerts of the cycle Música de Pais para Filhos will return, in which babies up to 24 months are invited to listen and interact with an instrument, in this case the Trumpet, by the interpreter Albano Neto.
Also on the 20th, at 21 pm, Miguel Araújo brings to Teatro das Figuras one of the last concerts of the tour of his third album of originals “Giesta”. Miguel Araújo presents itself in format big band, with themes from this last album and others already well known by the public.
For the first time in Portugal, and only in three national rooms, Lisbon, Porto and Faro, “The Umbilical Brothers” give, on the 25th, “a show that combines physical comedy with incredible vocal and physical abilities”.
On the 27th, it will be the turn of a music and dance show for children: “Missão no Circo”.
The cycle of get-togethers “At the Theater at 6” is presented in this new season in a format in which the participant has to know the work under analysis. “From the dialogue between participants and moderator, an enriching exchange of knowledge is generated”.
In the first edition, the work will be “A Flute Mágica de Mozart”, an opera that will be presented on November 2nd, and the facilitator will be the musician Paulo Girão.
The month's program ends on October 31, at 21 pm, with a concert by Carolina Deslandes.
