Algarve Teresa Duarte becomes first female champion of the world of Underwater Fishing

The athlete is already used to the high circle of sports related to the sea

The Portuguese Teresa Duarte was crowned this Saturday the first female world champion in underwater fishing, in the first edition of the Women's Underwater Fishing World Cup, which took place in Sagres, the World Cup pair.

The podium was completed by North Americans Rosibel Perurena (2nd place) and Kelsey Albert (3rd).

In teams, the gold belongs to the United States of America and the silver is in Potugal, for the National Team. In third place was Spain.

Teresa Duarte is already used to being in the limelight of sports related to the sea, after a solid career in bodyboard, always linked to the Sagres Bodyboard Association.

No bodyboard, obtained several titles in the modality, namely National Champion of Hopes (2000/2001) and National Champion (2007), TOP 16 World Cup 2004, Senior Champion of the Portuguese Cup 2002 and 2004, and European Junior Vice Champion for the National Team 2000.
