Three luxury hotels and a golf course in the Algarve were distinguished at the 15th edition of the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards, the oscar of national tourism, whose official ceremony took place last Friday, 21st of September, in the Tróia Peninsula.
Os oscar of national tourism awarded Vila Vita Parc, in Lagoa, as “Best Resort”, Salgados Palm Village, in Albufeira, as “Best Family Resort Hotel” and Vila Joya, also in Albufeira, as “Best Beach Hotel” in Portugal.
The Algarve was also distinguished in the category of “Best Golf Course”, awarded again to Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort, in Lagos, which thus achieved the award seven times in a row.
“Over the years, luxury hospitality has been growing in Europe. From an early age, the Algarve stood out for the differentiation and excellence of its units, with exclusive experiences, with added value for tourists», according to the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA).

The winners resulted from a weighted average of the votes of subscribers to newsletter of the Publituris newspaper (40%) and the votes of a jury (60%) made up of personalities such as Luís Araújo, president of Turismo de Portugal, Raul Martins, president of the Hotel Association of Portugal, Pedro Costa Ferreira, president of the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies, Jorge Rebelo de Almeida, president of the Vila Galé group, or Frederico Costa, manager of Pousadas de Portugal.
