More than 400 youngsters, from 14 basketball teams, will compete in the VI edition of the Cidade de Lagoa International Tournament, to be held from Friday, September 21st, to Sunday, the 23rd, at Nave Desportiva de Ferragudo.
The event, organized by the Cultural and Sports Association (ACD) of Ferragudo, with the support of the Municipality of Lagoa and the sponsorship of the Slide & Splash water park, will be attended by 10 national basketball clubs, two Romanian and two Spanish, from the more than 400 athletes of both genders and all categories are part of it.
The city's support for this event is part of Axis 3- "Lagoa Hosts Large Sport Events" and Axis 2 "Sport – Competition" of the Municipal Sports Development Strategy and «is an integral part of a philosophy that aims to increase the competitive level of the basketball teams of the ACD de Ferragudo», says Câmara de Lagoa.
The aim is also to contribute to «a municipality where sport plays an important educational role».
