“Lifesaving” magazine celebrates two years with special edition

Magazine of "innovative character" already has thousands of subscribers

The magazine “Lifesaving”, produced by the team of the Emergency Medical Vehicle and Resuscitation (VMER) of INEM of Faro and Albufeira, marks, on 3 August, the second anniversary of consecutive publications and will launch a special edition.

On that day, at 18:30 pm, the new edition of the magazine, the 9th, will be presented at an event held at the FNAC store in Faro. At the same time, an exhibition on “CVA” will be inaugurated, which can be seen, on the 3rd and 4th of August, at Forum Algarve.

Dedicated to the theme of “Via Verde do AVC”, the anniversary edition of “Lifesaving” will feature the participation of professionals from VMER, the Emergency Department and the Stroke Unit of the University Hospital Center of Algarve (CHUA).

In addition to the various items of the magazine, this edition also has a special section on “Ethics and Catastrophe”, which will present the summaries of the presentations made at the seminar that took place last May within the scope of the Civil Protection Fair in Portimão “Algarsafe 2018".

To make the community aware of the problem that is one of the main causes of death in Portugal – stroke is, in turn, the objective of the exhibition to be inaugurated.

«The aim of this initiative is to share fundamental notions of disease prevention, its early recognition and therapeutic approach, as well as to make known the type of intervention that is carried out by VMER in pre-hospital care and by Via Verde AVC teams in context hospital», explains Bruno Santos, editor-in-chief of “Lifesaving” and medical coordinator of VMER in Faro and from Albufeira.

This is a technical-scientific publication in the area of ​​medical emergency, produced by doctors and nurses of the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicles of Faro and Albufeira (VMER) belonging to the University Hospital Center of the Algarve.

With quarterly periodicity and in a digital format, «the magazine addresses several topics in the area of ​​medical emergencies, standing out for its innovative character in Portugal and already counting with thousands of subscribers of the format and followers on social networks», says CHUA.
