Our Lady returned to the waters of the estuary on the feast of its sailors

This festival, which takes place on every first Sunday in August, is a beautiful thing to see, with the venerated image of Senhora dos Navegantes being carried by boat across the waters of the estuary.

The procession of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes, the religious festival of fishermen on the island of Culatra, is the reason for yet another “visual chronicle” by Filipe da Palma.

For this, the photographer who is dedicated to inventorying the Algarve's intangible heritage in images, went to that island of Ria Formosa on the first boat of the morning, at 7:00 am on Sunday, and spent the day there.
