Table from Zambujeira do Mar passes to the final of the 7 Wonders at Table, Loulé and Vila do Bispo stayed on the way

The freshness and intensity of the flavors of the sea, the essence of the traditional Alentejo bread, the quality of the wines, the authenticity of Medronho and the unique experience of Rota Vicentina were the trump cards

The tables of Zambujeira do Mar and Mirandela were the finalists selected at the Gala das 7 Maravilhas à Mesa this Sunday, August 19, which took place in the village of Odemira.

In this pre-finalists gala, two Algarve Tables participated, those of Loulé and Vila do Bispo, but none of them was chosen to go to the final. The tables in Borba, Funchal and Madalena do Pico were still being voted on.

The Municipality of Odemira had registered the theme “Boat at Table in Zambujeira do Mar”, in the scope of the “Sea Tables”, in three categories: gastronomy, wines and oils and itineraries. He highlighted the freshness and intensity of the flavors of the sea, the essence of traditional Alentejo bread, the quality of the Rosé Vicentino 2015 and White Vicentino 2016 wines, the authenticity of Medronho SW and the unique experience that Rota Vicentina allows. The application was sponsored by journalist Paulo Camacho, who has lived and has a rural tourism unit in the municipality for 10 years.

Of the 49 applications accepted, in each of the seven pre-finalist galas, two tables are elected by the public, which go on to the Finalist stage. Afterwards, these 14 will have their presence assured at the Gala Final, scheduled for the 16th of September, in Albufeira.

From the Algarve, Mesa de Albufeira is already chosen as a finalist.
