The flames are again in Zebro de Cima, near the Quinta Pedagógica de Silves, reports the newspaper Terra Ruiva, in its online edition.
According to this newspaper, the residents of this location in the parish of Silves were all night and a large part of the morning completely alone, without any support from firefighters or other authorities, after the device that had been placed there yesterday was removed to move to another location.
At this moment, they already have the support of a helicopter, "which gave back the hope of being able to save the houses".
Yesterday, according to this São Bartolomeu de Messines newspaper, the fire passed about two kilometers from the city of Silves, from where it was visible. It then proceeded to the area of the Odelouca Dam, where it spread towards Nave Redonda and Benafátima, in the parish of São Marcos da Serra, although it did not reach these villages.
