São Brás de Alportel will have five new sets of underground ecopoints, installed in the urban area of the town, in places with greater population density.
In these areas there is “good adherence to selective deposition and, as such, where it is necessary to reinforce the number of equipment available to the community”. Six new oleons will also be placed.
The public tender for the acquisition of the new containers has already been launched by the Municipality, with an investment of around 70 thousand euros which is financed by 85% of POSEUR and is part of an application to promote the multimaterial recycling of waste, presented by Municipality that also includes eight underground ecopoints and five oleões placed in a first phase.
The application had an approved physical and financial reinforcement that allowed for this second phase and which also includes the launch of the contract for the placement of the ecopoints and six more oleões.
This commitment to strengthening underground ecopoints is one of the pillars of the strategy to promote environmental quality defined by the municipality, which prioritizes the promotion of hygiene and cleaning of public spaces and the selective disposal of waste, with a view to its increasing recycling and recovery .
