PDR2020 opens support line for citrus production

This support line comes after African psyla has been detected in some parts of the country.

Applications for European support for investments in nurseries for the production of citrus or other rutaceous plants can be submitted until the 31st of August.

This helpline is opened following the 'detection of Trioza erytreae, also known as African psyla, in some areas of the country” and due to “the progressive expansion of the area infested by this insect and in view of the new legislation in force”, is read in the announcement of the opening of candidacies.

Thus, the applications should "strengthen the viability of the existing agricultural nurseries, promoting innovation, organizational capacity and the conversion of companies" and "preserve and improve the environment, ensuring the compatibility of investments with the phytosanitary protection and control standards in force ».

It is also possible to request support for the production of plants of the Rutaceous family (including citrus fruit) «in a place with complete physical protection regarding the Trioza erytreae».

More information about this procedure can be obtained on the PDR2020 website.
