Mário Cesariny, António Dacosta, Graça Morais, Paula Rego and Cruzeiro Seixas will be in focus at an exhibition that opens this Saturday, July 7th, at the Municipal Museum of Faro, in partnership with the Millennium BCP Foundation.

This exhibition, entitled “The evolution of the arm – Surrealism in the Millennium BCP Collection and some contemporary echoes”, in addition to the paintings of these notable national artists, counts on the collaboration of a recent generation of talents in the visual arts chosen by the curator Nuno Faria.

In this batch of artists, who will be guided by the theme of surrealism, names such as Jorge Feijão, Mumtazz, Rui Horta Pereira and Samuel Rama are present.

«This is the great novelty of the exhibition, which calls for the participation of younger artists, belonging to a time when surrealism is nothing like the conditions and motivations that the most distant found in their creative path», says the Câmara de Faro.

Even so, “the energetic, challenging and restless language is present in all of them, in history and in newcomers”.

This exhibition, on display at the Municipal Museum of Faro until the 23rd of September, which can be enjoyed on Saturdays and Sundays,« represents a rare opportunity to discover the surrealist collection of the Millennium BCP Foundation, within what has been the cultural practice of decentralizing this institution and supporting the new values ​​of arts”, concludes the municipality of Faro.
