There are 2 million euros in European funds for micro and small businesses in the Algarve

Financial support comes from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

The second notices of opening applications to the Entrepreneurship and Employment Incentive System (SI2E) for the creation, expansion and modernization of micro and small businesses in the Algarve are already available. 

Composed of a package of five different notices, this second wave allows the operationalization of SI2E, mobilizing in an integrated way support to be granted through the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), allowing them to be included in the same application. two operations are submitted for each of these components.

Pursuant to article 12 of SI2E, the incentives to be granted are in the nature of a non-refundable subsidy, applying the reimbursement modality of eligible costs actually incurred and paid, not exceeding the total amount of FSE and ERDF support, per company, the limit of 200 thousand euros in a period of three years.

Regarding the investment incentive, ERDF support is calculated, based on the approved eligible investment, by applying a base rate of 40% for investments located in low density territories or 30% for investments located in other territories.

As for the employment incentive, the funding related to the creation of jobs for unemployed or young people looking for their first job or for the creation of their own job is attributed through the total contribution of the remuneration of the created jobs and has as a monthly limit the value corresponding to the Social Support Index (IAS), observing the maximum periods, namely, nine months, for permanent employment contracts or self-employment, and three months, for fixed-term employment contracts, with a minimum duration 12 months, which may be increased, under the terms contained in each notice.

With small variables from warning to warning, available in full on the website of the Regional Operational Program CRESC Algarve2020, they are likely to support the creation of micro and small companies or expansion or modernization of micro and small companies created in the territories covered by the action groups urban location (GAL) of Faro, Lagos, Silves and Tavira, as well as in the territories of the parishes of Ferreiras (Albufeira), União de Parishes (UF) of Sé and São Pedro and Montenegro (Faro), State of Estômbar and Parchal, Ferragudo, State of Lagoa and Carvoeiro and Porches (Lagoa), São Gonçalo de Lagos (Lagos), Almancil, Quarteira and São Clemente (Loulé), Olhão and Quelfes (Olhão), Portimão (Portimão) and Armação de Pêra (Silves).

For this second set of notices, the CRESC Algarve 2020 operational program has reserved an allocation of 2,3 million euros in the two phases, coming from the ESF and the ERDF, and applications must be submitted at the Counter 2020 by 18:00 on the 31st of October and December 27, respectively.
