GNR's GIPS receives six fire-fighting vehicles

Vehicles are destined for the Algarve (and beyond), having a capacity of 3500 liters of water

Six heavy forest fire fighting vehicles will be delivered this Friday, July 27, to the GNR Intervention Group for Protection and Relief (GIPS) by the Ministry of Internal Administration. 

These vehicles are destined for the Algarve, but also for the districts of Aveiro, Bragança and Viseu and "are part of a batch of 16 heavy vehicles destined for the GNR GIPS", explains the Ministry.

The vehicles have a capacity of 3500 liters of water and are equipped with the SIRESP communication system.

This year, GNR has already received 88 new light fire fighting vehicles.
