JSD's “Formar Algarve” debated the role of party youths and regional issues

The IV edition of the JSD/Algarve political training academy, “Formar Algarve”, took place from 6 to 8 July, in Portimão, and debated the role of party youths and the parliamentary work of Algarve deputies. 

Work began with the intervention of Salvador Malheiro que. as vice president of the PSD's National Political Commission, he opened the fourth edition of the Algarvian Political Academy, along with David Santos, president of the PSD Algarve.

On the second day of work, Fernando Seara discussed, during the morning, with the three dozen trainees, what conditions are there for having “Courage to show your face in public life”.

After a free lunch, to socialize among the militants of the Algarve, Carlos das Neves Martins, chairman of the Board of Directors of Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Norte and former secretary of State for Health and also for Tourism, addressed the panel “Health Tourism” in which was also asked about the National Health Service and the state of the sector in the region.

Political marketing professional José Paulo Fafe, journalist Sebastião Bugalho and economist Diogo Agostinho shared a panel discussion on “Communication, Political Marketing and Surveys”.

Pedro Rodrigues, former president of the JSD National Political Commission, on the 44th national anniversary of the JSD, debated on the present and future of the PSD and also on whether “Partisan youths are a curriculum or a register”?

At dinner, maintaining the intergenerational posture in which all panels were moderated by former presidents of JSD/Algarve, the fellowship of trainees was held around the history of the Algarve district structure, from its foundation, with Vasco Grade, until the current term of office by Carlos Gouveia Martins.

On the third and last day of work, on Sunday, July 8, JSD/Algarve wanted to debate the parliamentary work of the Algarve deputies.

With the presence of Deputy José Carlos Barros, the trainees debated about what has been done in this legislature, what remains to be debated, also questioning current issues such as the EN125, the exploration of hydrocarbons along the Algarve coast or the health in the region.
