The 2nd Festival Choque Frontal takes a «night full of music» next Friday, July 13th, to Alameda de Portimão.

In this second edition of this Festival, the South Kick Band, Gaijas and Vítor Bacalhau take to the stage.

After two years on tour with his debut album “Brand New Dawn”, Vítor Bacalhau released “Cosmic Attraction”, his second album. It was recorded with no overdubs, no metronome and no ammo at Mobydick Records studios in Braga.

Budda Guedes produced the album and encouraged Vítor and the band to step out of their comfort zone. «Vítor Bacalhau is one of the most promising names in the new national blues rock wave, winner of the last national competition and Portuguese representative at the European Blues Challenge in Hell, Norway, where he took third place», says the organization.

SouthKick Band are an Algarve band, originally from covers, but which recently started to take the first steps in sound travels in the originals, consisting of four elements (Carolina – Voice / André (aka Mr.Slider) – Bass / Josué -Bateria / Luciano – Electric and Acoustic Guitar). They have as a project, the passage through the years 50/60/70/80/90 and 2000 from Rock to Reggae, from Soul to Funk.

The band Gaijas (Ana Teresa Rodrigues: voice, Mariana Rosa: guitar, Raquel Narciso: bass and Sónia Cabrita: drums) was born in October 2014 but broke up in 2016. Now they decided to be reborn «and are back in full power as a quartet and with a lot of new music», says the organization.

Admission is free.

Holding this festival at Alameda it is part of the summer events calendar for that space in Portimão.
