The cycle of soloists of the Southern Classical Orchestra (OCS) will pass through Punta Umbria, on July 6th, and Isla Cristina, on the following day, in Spain.

On the 6th of July, the Teatro del Mar room, in Punta Umbria, will host the concert “Ciclo de Soloistas OCS”, with trumpeter João Moreira taking the place of the soloist.

Conductor Rui Pinheiro will be in charge of the concert's direction, who will once again conduct the Orquestra Clássica do Sul the following day, July 7th, at Teatro Municipal Horacio Noguera, on Isla Cristina. Both concerts will start at 22:00.

«With this cycle, OCS makes its instrumentalists known, stimulating their performances as soloists and providing the public with a different perspective on the artistic body of this orchestra», according to the orchestra.

Summer evenings invite to a “lighter” program and the “Light Classics” cycle, directed by Maestro John Avery, returns to fill the OCS schedule in the coming months.

On the 14th of July, the Centro Cultural de Lagos hosts the first concert of the cycle, starting at 21 pm. On the 30th, Thursday, it will be the turn of the Orquestra Clássica do Sul to perform outside the MAR Shopping Algarve, to offer a musical evening to visitors to that commercial space. The concert will start at 19:22 and admission is free.

One of the highlights of the month of July is the concert “Sons do Tempo”, taking place on the 20th, Friday, in the municipality of Mértola. The place where ore extraction activities were carried out in the past, at Mina de S. Domingos, will become a stage for an OCS concert. With Maestro John Avery in the orchestral direction, the concert starts at 22:30 pm and has free admission.

With a tour of the work of different national and international composers, the Orchestra presents the concert “Músicas do Mundo” in Tavira (Praça da República), on the 26th, and in Castro Marim (Revelim de Santo António), on the 28th of July .

The concerts, starting at 22 pm, will be conducted by Maestro Rui Pinheiro and admission is free.
