"There is a world without rules!" defended the rector of the University of Algarve in an interview with the program «Impressions», promoted by the Sul Informação and Rádio Universitária do Algarve (RUA), on the day Paulo Águas completed six months in office.

The dean, frankly, said: "I don't like practices", maybe because I didn't have that "experience as a student", because I studied "in a time and place where there wasn't such a thing". However, he stressed, "I didn't stop getting to know my colleagues" and "to be integrated".

Paulo Águas added that, despite this, he recognizes that "there is a set of activities that the students develop that speed up the rapprochement between them", so he will not have "a police posture".

In any case, he argues that there should be "integration alternatives" and that students should always have "a choice" about whether or not they want to be practiced. The dean has promised that he will keep an eye on this issue.
