Prime Minister António Costa is in the Algarve today for two initiatives: in the morning, he will be in Loulé, in the Municipal Park, where three thousand students from the municipality develop activities within the scope of the Children's Day and the “Um Abraço Verde” challenge. In the afternoon, at 16 pm, he will be in Monchique, to show the material and human resources of the different agents involved in the Special Device for Combating Rural Fires (DECIR).

In the morning, António Costa accompanies minister Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, who takes part in the challenge of the Ministry of Education to Schools to mark Children's Day – “Um Abraço Verde”.

This is a national initiative that aims to raise awareness among younger students about environmental issues, namely the preservation of the forest, challenging them to develop educational activities in a green space in their community.

At 11:00 am, all participants, from the north to the south of the country – who will wear a green sweater – “hug” a tree, in a symbolic gesture to protect the environment.

The Prime Minister and the Minister of Education join the educational community of Loulé, in the Municipal Park, where around 3 students from the municipality carry out various activities.

At 16 pm, accompanied by the Minister of Internal Administration Eduardo Cabrita, Costa visits the Monchique Air Resources Center, where there will be a display of the material and human resources of the different agents (Civil Protection, GNR/GIPS, Firefighters and Forestry Sappers) that are part of the DECIDE
