The Ecologist Party Os Verdes demands to know when the EN125 requalification works will be completed and if all the planned works will proceed soon, «including the variants and the access/connection roads».

In a question addressed by deputy José Luís Ferreira, of the Os Verdes Parliamentary Group, to the Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure, this party confronted the Government with “the need to complete the works on Estrada Nacional 125, which has caused serious disturbances in car traffic, which have repercussions both in terms of road safety and in terms of the quality of life of residents, who recurrently complain about inconvenient situations caused by them, in addition to problems caused by restrictions on circulation and mobility».

The Greens recall that «despite the completion of the works, along the entire length of the EN 125, for the year 2012, these deadlines were not met by the company Rotas do Algarve Litoral, with significant delays in the start of the works. and in its implementation'.

«It is noteworthy that the requalification of the EN125 also aims to increase road safety, with a reduction in accidents by 35%, in addition to improving road traffic, promoting excellent landscape integration and promoting urban planning in the surrounding this national road”.

Despite this, the work remains unfinished, which causes problems at various levels, including with regard to safety.

«The recent annual road safety report for the year 2017, published by the National Road Safety Authority, reports that the National Road 125, which connects Vila do Bispo to Vila Real de Santo António, leads the most dangerous routes by presenting five black spots, thus becoming the most dangerous route in the country”, recalled Os Verdes.
