A Spanish tourist was injured on Sunday, June 24, following a fall in a rocky area at the base of the cliff, near Algar Seco, near Carvoeiro, in Lagoa. The 52-year-old man was assisted on the spot by INEM, rescued by the Maritime Authority and transported to hospital.

On Sunday, at 10:45 am, the picket of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão warned of the fall of a person who was “walking along the coastline”.

Upon arrival at the scene, the means of assistance had to stabilize the victim, "who had suspected trauma to the ribs", before transferring her to the Ferragudo lifeboat, accompanied by the INEM team. Once on land, the man was taken by ambulance to the Hospital de Portimão.

The National Maritime Authority, which coordinated the operation, took the opportunity to recall “the risk of collapse of the cliffs, warning people to stay away from them, taking advantage only of the marked paths and trails”.

This operation involved the Ferragudo lifeboat, the Maritime Police picket, a medical team from INEM and a wide-angle rescue team from the Lagoa Fire Department.
