The Lagoa Jazz Fest starts this Friday, June 22, and brings a lot of music and entertainment to the open-air amphitheater of the Municipal Park of Sítio das Fontes, near Estômbar.

On the first day there are concerts by the duo “Mano a Mano” (André Santos and Bruno Santos) and the German Timo Vollbrecht, who is accompanied by the quartet “Fly Magic”.

Vollbrecht is a composer acclaimed for his unique musical writing and described as "luminously fine" by the "New York City Jazz Record". «Timo creates a magical blend of energy and emotional intensity that results in a genuine sound that sometimes portrays the feeling of flying. The Noviorcan jazz bible “Hot House” praised him as a “remarkable talent”, says Câmara de Lagoa.

The performance of “Elas eo Jazz” is reserved for Saturday – a trio composed by Joana Machado, Mariana Norton and Marta Hugon.

In the idyllic setting of Sítio das Fontes, the singers will interpretar some of your standards favorite by composers such as Cole Porter, George Gershwin ou Richard Rogers.

Accompanied by a luxury trio, with João Pedro Coelho on piano, Romeu Tristão on double bass and André Sousa Machado on drums, “Elas ea Jazz” recreates the ever-contemporary universe of Broadway musicals and New York jazz clubs in a show that, more than a visit to the classics, is a musical narrative told in three voices.

Finally, on Sunday, the 24th, when the festival ends, the concerts are by the Brazilians João Ventura and Rogério Pitomba (“Diálogos”) and the Ramdom Control project, by David Helbock, Johannes Bar and Andreas Broger, which puts more than 20 instruments on stage. «A varied repertoire with original compositions, themes from Austrian folklore, and classics by some of the most famous jazz pianists», says Câmara de Lagoa.

In the lounge on Stage 2, it will be possible to watch shows by Road 31 (on the 22nd), Ivo Soares and José Soares (23) and Matt Lester Duo (24). The space will also host an exhibition of paintings related to Patico's jazz.

The doors to the venue open every day at 19 pm, while concerts start at 00 pm. Tickets cost 22 euros and are on sale at the Convento de São José, in Lagoa (00), Municipal Auditorium of Lagoa (10) and one-stop shop in Lagoa City Hall (282380434).
