The funds from the European Union available to finance entities and initiatives of the Social Economy will be made known at the Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve, this Wednesday, between 14 pm.

The online event “The World of Social Financing, new trends in Portugal” will serve to celebrate the second anniversary of GEOfundos, which is “the only online platform in Portugal that brings together all the funding opportunities, national and international, available to entities and initiatives of the Social Economy”, according to the CCDR of the Algarve.

The conference will take place simultaneously and interconnected with others that will take place in Braga and Fundão. In this «afternoon of sharing experiences about the world of financing of Social Economy entities», the themes “Innovative Financing Models: Social Investment Funds, the potential in Portugal” and “Knowing the Financing Models” will be addressed.

«The Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS) is the concept at the base of SUSY (Sustainable and Solidarity Economy) and already employs around 11 million people in the sector. Social enterprises that combine societal objectives with an entrepreneurial spirit have recently gained prominence, and the role of the European Commission, in particular with the Social Business Initiative, is not unconnected”, framed the CCDR of Algarve.
