The Municipality of Albufeira invested 66 thousand euros in the renovation of the sports pavilion and library of the Escola Basica Dr. Francisco Cabrita.
The works, which were officially inaugurated on Wednesday, "contribute to the improvement of study conditions for students and to increase safety during sports practice."
The school library of this school from Albufeira is now equipped with new furniture and an LCD. As for the school's sports hall, «the floor was replaced by a wooden floor, measuring 557 square meters, which allows the practice of futsal, basketball, handball, volleyball, badminton and skating».
“The municipality seeks to support educational establishments within their competences and even outside this scope. In this specific case, we offer audiovisual equipment and furniture for the school library, an extremely important space for students and teachers, which encourages study and discovery», considered the mayor of Albufeira José Carlos Rolo.
The mayor also pointed out that «the replacement of the pavilion's floor will provide the equipment with better safety conditions for the practice of sports for students and also for athletes from various associations and clubs in the municipality, who use that space for their training».
