Etson Barros broke his own record, taking 11 seconds off the mark that already belonged to him. Juliana Guerreiro, a young woman from Faro, broke a record that had been set in 2015 by Marisa Carvalho, earning her 4 seconds.

In addition to these two gold medals, there were more algarvian podiums in the competition that took place in Vagos. Etson Barros turned out to be the athlete who stood out the most, by also securing silver in the 1500 meters.

«Etson Barros will now guide his preparation for participation in the European Under 18 Track Championship, a competition that will take place on the 6th (half final) and 8th (final) of July in the Hungarian city of Gyor», announced the Club East of Pechao.

Another COP athlete Pedro Dias secured another individual title, the bronze in the 5000 meters march. The Pechão club also saw its athletes Érica Conceição, Denise Semedo, Inês Farias and Telma Mendes win silver in the female medley relay (100mt+200mt+300mt+400mt).
