Moura beer is again present

The Alameda Beer Fest will return with news to the Jardim da Alameda João de Deus, in Faro, between the 5th and 7th of July. The international festival of beers and craft brewers, which is in its fourth edition, will have a reorganized venue, will have more Algarve beers and paid tickets.

Sandra Ramos, president of Ambifaro, which organizes the festival together with the Chamber of Faro and OG & Associados, explained to the Sul Informação that, this year, “to enter, you will have to pay 2,5 euros. This amount entitles you to a cup and a bracelet, which gives you access to every day of the festival. In other words, you pay only once». On the other hand, minors under 18 years old will not pay admission as, legally, they cannot consume alcohol.

This change, according to Sandra Ramos, will make it possible to «reduce waiting lines for those who are already inside the venue and want to buy tokens to drink beer. This year we are going to have our own places to sell tokens when, in previous years, they were sold at the box office. As the entrance is paid, to avoid that those who just want to consume beer have to stand in lines to enter, the venue will have three booths for the sale of tokens», he adds.

These booths will be located next to the brewers who, in 2018, will be elsewhere. “The biggest news this year is the enclosure. We changed the layout of the brewers. The area that, last year, had the restoration will have the brewers and the restoration will now have a Avenue of Restoration, which is next to the entrance to the Alameda on the PSP side».

In addition to the three restaurants, there will be, as in previous years, street food stalls, a space for a designer urban crafts market and, of course, 200 craft beers for all tastes.

Among the 27 brewers who will be present, 22 are Portuguese and six of these are from the Algarve. Marafada, Moura, Moça, Dos Santos Craft Beer, Mania and Algarve Rock Brewery will represent the Algarve at the Alameda Beer Fest.

Musical animation will not be lacking either, and here too there are changes: «there will only be one stage. The entire festival will be more concentrated in an area of the Alameda, with the change of location of the brewers. Thus, the stage also moves to that area», explains Sandra Ramos. In addition to street scenes, there will be two concerts a day, and a DJ performance to close the night.

Sam Alone (5th), Fast Eddie Nelson (6th) and Lucky Duckies (7th) are some of the names that will take the stage at the Alameda Beer Fest.

Another novelty will be the presentation of gastronomic harmonies. "The brewers propose the typical products of their regions and a beer to accompany that product".

The Alameda Beer Fest will be open between 17:00 and 01:00 and the difficult thing will be to taste all the beers.
