The Algarve will unite «from one end to the other» to make its contribution to an ocean without waste. Hundreds of people will be on beaches across the region this Sunday, the 27th of May, to participate in the “Run Algarve Coast without Garbage”.

"This informal initiative involves informal groups of citizens, associations, local authorities and Ciência Viva Centres, with the purpose of cleaning up beaches, rivers and streams and sensitizing the population to the problem of marine litter", according to Straw Patrol, which organizes the event with Associação Lais de Guia and the Run Eco Team Portugal group.

This cleaning action will take place throughout the day. Participants are challenged to take walks through the sands, "collecting garbage and taking pictures that they will share on social networks."
