Mariia Sergeeva, from Russia, won three gold medals in the finals for apparatus

Mariia Sergeeva, from Russia, was the leading figure on the last day of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Portimão, winning three gold medals in the finals for the Bow (18,750), Maces (17,900) and Ribbon (17,700) finals .

Sergeeva only lost to Israel in the final by apparatus in Bola. Israeli Nicol Zelikman took home the gold medal, with a score of 18,150, and Polina Khonina, from Russia, with 17,900 was a silver medal.

The competition between Russia and Israel was fierce from the first day of qualifying and, in the finals, it could not be otherwise, with an advantage for Russia.

In addition to first place in Bola, Nicol Zelikman won the silver medal in Arco (18,350) and bronze in Maces (17,050).

In turn, Polina Khonina was also silver in Maces (17,800) and bronze medal in Arco (17,500).

In Tape, Japan's Kaho Minagawa also stood out, who took second place on this device, with a score of 17,300. The gymnast won the support of the very public that almost filled the Arena de Portimão and was one of the most applauded.

The bronze medal went to Italy, by the hand of Alessia Russo who had a score of 16,300.

Brazilian Natalia Gaudio did not win a medal, but she made history for her country. For the first time, the Brazilian gymnast, who participated in the Rio Olympic Games in 2016, won a place in a World Cup final in Fita, in which she achieved fourth place, with a score of 16,300.

Brazil was also present in the Sets competition, with a place in the two finals, Cinco Arcos e Duas Cordas and Três Bolas, in both of which it was ranked 4th.

This competition was marked by the participation of South American countries, since, in addition to Brazil, Chile (which was reserve in both finals), Argentina and Mexico were also present.

China (Gold Medal in Five Arches), Azerbaijan (first place in 2 Strings and 3 Arches) and Finland (two bronze medals) dominated the podium in the two finals.
