The Portuguese gymnasts Laura Sales and Margarida Ferreira had an excellent performance on the first day of qualifications (Bola e Arco), in Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, which runs until tomorrow, Sunday, at Portimão Arena.

Laura Sales was 11th in the overall standings, among 36 gymnasts in competition and ahead of some Olympic stars.

The gymnast had her best performance in Bola with 14.700, which earned her the 11th position and the third place in reserve for the final of this apparatus.

In Arco, Laura scored 14.050 and placed 13th.

Margarida Ferreira now occupies the 22nd position in the All-Around. The gymnast was 19th in Arco, with a score of 13.300 and 24th in Bola.

Russia and Israel were highlighted in this first day of qualifying, as they secured first and second place in Bola e Arco, with gymnasts Mariia Sergeeva and Nicol Zelikma, respectively.

In Sets, the competition was dominated by China. In Cinco Arcos, the Chinese Ensemble obtained a score of 18.150. Azerbaijan and Mexico were in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively with 16.900 and 16.200 points.

Always with free entry, this Saturday, the 12th, from 15:30, there will be individual provision of apples and ribbon, sets and protocol ceremonies, with the tests taking place until close to 20:30.

On Sunday, the 13th, there will be the ensemble and individual finals, starting at 15 pm, as well as the awarding of medals. Between 00:18 pm and 45:19 pm, the closing gala will take place.
