Lagoa City Council will host the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the friendship and trade treaty between Thailand and Portugal, between the 3rd and 10th of June.

Among the various cultural moments, there is the show “Danças da Terra dos Sorrisos”, hosted by a group of students from Kasetsart University, in Bangkok. Music and dances will be on stage at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, at 21 pm, on June 30th.

In the cells of the Convento de S. José, a photography exhibition from that eastern country will be inaugurated after the 10th of June, which will remain open until the 8th of July.

Some moments of traditional Thai dance will take place at Senhora da Rocha (Porches), Ferragudo (Largo Rainha D. Leonor) and Largo da Praia, in Carvoeiro.

With the aim of promoting the municipality of Lagoa, the delegation will take with them “tourist postcards”, gastronomic memories and some educational experiences captured in the most touristic spots, in restaurants and with schools in the municipality, initiatives provided for in the exchange between the two cultures.

The Thai Week in the Algarve, in Lagoa, is an initiative of the Royal Thai Embassy in Portugal, carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Lagoa.
