The entrepreneurial spirit and the arts will meet at Beta Talk Portimão, which will take place on Wednesday, May 16, at 19 pm, at Café Concerto do TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão. This month, the guests are Sandra and Raquel Lobo, founders of the Everlight atelier, and Beatriz Cardoso, founder of the Talanti project, two companies in which art and talent occupy a central place.

The Everlight atelier, from Faro, explores the niche of children's and family photography. Talanti, from Lagos, is a company that bridges the gap between artists and customers who want to give unique and very original gifts.

In May, Beta Talk also takes place out of doors, in this case on the tracks in the interior of the municipality of Portimão. On Sunday, the 13th, a Beta Talk walk will take place, promoted by Zen Trekk, one of the companies invited to the January edition of this entrepreneurship dissemination event.

According to Carlos Glória, the founder of Zen Trekk, those who participate in the tour will be taken through "a beautiful route", through "beautiful landscapes" and passing by "streams, lakes, hills and valleys, trees, shrubs, flowers , earth and stones».

Those who signed up for the January Beta Talk are now invited to join this journey.

Three days later, the founders of Everlight and Talanti will be given the opportunity to talk about their projects.

Sandra and Raquel Lobo, from Everlight, are mother and daughter. The mother, Sandra Lobo, is 43 years old, was born in Angola, lived in Venezuela, but it was in Faro who made his life. Despite having a degree in Tourism, it was in the arts area that she felt fulfilled. Her biggest dream was always to be a mother, so at the age of 21 she got married and started a large family. «His 4 children are his biggest project and achievement, but there was another dream», according to Câmara de Portimão, which organizes Beta Talk locally.

«Never leaving her mission as a full-time mother and supporting her husband in running her business, she takes up her hobby of portraying her children and friends through photography. Little by little, she developed her training in the area and started to be requested for work, which led her to found Sandra Lobo Photography in 2007 and to start what would become a strong investment in children's and family photography», describes the municipality.

Raquel Lobo is Sandra's eldest daughter, who was also infected by the “little bug” of the art of photography. Raquel was trained in the multimedia area, with subsequent specialization in children's photography. In 2017, mother and daughter gave life to their dream and opened the studio Everlight Sandra and Raquel Lobo, in Faro.

This space «is much more than a photographic studio», being also «a center for sharing experiences related to motherhood and photography, which is distinguished by the varied and innovative range of services and established partnerships».

Along the way, they have already been distinguished with several awards, including the Baby Photo Awards 2016.

Beatriz Cardoso is 34 years old and is from Lisbon. In addition to having a Degree in Management at ISCTE, she studied Eramus in Barcelona, attended the Summer School in Prague and did the Contact Program in Stockholm. «All these international experiences have ended up leading to a wide range of professional experiences as well, from the Commercial, Marketing, Tourism and Human Resources areas», describes the municipality of Portimo.

After eight years working in a corporate environment, much of that time building the bridge between Portugal and Angola, the decision to change my life appeared. After a period of a few months doing ecological volunteering for our Portugal, Beatriz Cardoso was “sure that she had to leave Lisbon”. Then came the decision to create his own project and everything ended up taking shape in Lagos, where he came to live in September 2016.

In April 2017, Talanti was created, «a platform that allows us to offer different gifts, bridging the gap between clients and artists so that they can transform ideas into personalized and extraordinary gifts».

More than an event with a scheduled date and time (always on the 16th of each month, in the late afternoon), since July 2012 Beta Talk in Portimão has become a meeting point for enterprising people and an inspiring movement, promoting it in the informal and relaxed atmosphere of the Café Concerto do TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão, contacts and sharing experiences.

Entry as usual to Beta Talk Portimão is free but subject to prior registration, which must be done online. The wine-break is up to whoever comes, so participants are invited to bring wine (or juice) and snacks to share.

Beta Talk is an initiative promoted by Beta-i – Association for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and is locally organized by the Municipality of Portimão, with the media partnership of Sul Informação and the collaboration of Escola Secundária Poeta António Aleixo, at the level of the Multimedia Course, which ensures photographic coverage.
