Startup Portimão, the business incubator of the Portimão Municipality, will challenge entrepreneurs in the region, on May 1st, to participate in “Get in the Ring”, a global startup competition that will put entrepreneurs face to face in a real boxing ring, in a "battle" for the best pitch.

The Creative Territories, in partnership with the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and the Municipality of Portimão, «challenged Get In
The Ring Foundation to bring the initiative to the Algarve, and thus include the region in the national circuit of this startup competition that will pass through Coimbra, Porto, Cascais and Portimão», explains the Câmara de Portimão.

The winner of this competition in Portimão will have direct access to the Global Meetup 2018, scheduled for Cascais, between May 30th and June 1st, which will have the participation of more than 200 startups and 200 companies, investors and business leaders de todo o mundo.

"There will be three days of workshops and thematic training sessions that will bring together startups, investors and business leaders from around the world with the main objective of opening new opportunities for startups, helping them to grow and become truly sustainable companies." adds the autarchy.

Jochem Cuppen, director and co-founder of Get In The Ring, will host “Get in the Ring” in Portimão, «which will feature distinguished
invited as a jury, and will bring together the biggest “players” of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Algarve and the country».

To apply, entrepreneurs must have an innovative and scalable business idea/model, a startup with less than 8 years and speak fluent English that allows them to pitch and listen to the feedback from the jury. The program and registration are available here.
