The Castro Marim Municipal Library will host the show “Jazz Day Concert”, starring the OJA Quintet, on April 30, at 21 pm.

In this concert, which will have «a tonic of smooth jazz», Hugo Alves, founder of the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, «invites Maria Anadon, who completes, in voice, this quintet from the ranks of OJA», according to the Chamber of Castro Marim.

The public can count on an alignment that will bring together «standards from the North American songbook, where you can hear the music of George Gershwin or Cole Porter, but also of other authors, such as Tom Jobim, in a retouch to Brazilian bossa».

With the show, Castro marim joins the celebrations of the International Jazz Day, instituted by Unesco and the Thelonious Monk Institute of New York.

Founded in 2004, OJA – Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve «is a unique and nationwide project, with 17 resident musicians (Big Band). "
