Ana Paula Vitorino, Minister of the Sea, will preside over the inauguration of the redevelopment of the border pier on the Guadiana River, this Friday, April 13, at 16:30 pm, in Vila Real de Santo António.

Before, in the morning, at 10:45 am, in Olhão, the Minister of the Sea and researchers from the University of Algarve and the Center for Marine Sciences (CCMar) accompany the 1st cycle students on a visit to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Quinta de Marim, where some of the scientific projects underway in the Park will be presented.

At 11:30 am, Ana Paula Vitorino will unveil the “Blue School” plaque at Escola João da Rosa and, at 11:50 am, will preside over the solemn session to award this distinction in the Auditorium of the Basic School/Kindergarten No. 6.

In Vila Real de Santo António, at 16:30 pm, the Minister of the Sea presides over the inauguration of the new border pier on the bank of the Guadiana River.

This work was carried out by Docapesca and represents an investment of 334,2 thousand euros.

The floating pier is intended for river routes for passengers and vehicles between Portugal and Spain (Ayamonte), which, with this requalification, is now capable of handling vehicles weighing up to eight tons.
