Janita Salomé will give the concert “Poets, carnations and roses”, on the 24th of April, at 21 pm, at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório, in Silves.

The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Silves and is part of the celebrations of the 44th anniversary of the 25th of April.

In this concert, the author and composer pays tribute to the poets who lent the words to his musical creations and explores the theme of the rose, also making a passage through the Alentejo cante, in a contribution to the dissemination of regional modes and contents that served as the basis for Portuguese collective identity and memory.

Tonight, however, it will include songs from a very rich Sephardic songbook that is little known in Portugal, in an attempt to generate respect for cultural and human diversity.

Admission is free, but limited to existing seats, so the voucher that will allow you to attend the show must be collected at the venue from 20 pm on the day of the concert.

The telephone number 282 440 800 and the email address [email protected] are the contacts of the Chamber of Silves Culture sector available to provide additional information about the event.
