A man suspected of having kidnapped, assaulted and threatened with death, with a firearm, a woman, in a house in Faro, in November, was detained by the Judiciary Police.

The man was indicted for crimes of offense to physical integrity and qualified kidnapping and will await trial in freedom, being, however, prohibited from contacting the victim, among other coercive measures.

According to the PJ, who made the arrest through its Southern Directorate, the 20-year-old suspect "thrown punches and bit the victim, a 29-year-old woman, after which she took refuge in one of the rooms" .

Then, “the detainee, displaying a pistol, threatened the victim with death and locked her in the room, making it impossible for her to leave”.

The man has already been presented to the court, which applied as coercive measures the obligation to present himself to the authorities every three weeks, as well as the prohibition to contact the victim and to leave the country.
