Mértola will celebrate the 25th of April anniversary with various cultural and sporting initiatives, with the highlight of the program being the concert, on the 24th at night, at Praça Luís de Camões, in which Grupo Contrabando will present “Zeca”.
The first initiative of the celebrations will be “Filmes com conversa” and is scheduled for Friday, the 20th, at 21 pm, at the Musical da Mina de S. Domingos. In this session, the film “Night Train to Lisbon” will be shown and Mário Martins, president of the Municipal Assembly of Mértola, will share memories and conversations about the 00th of April.
On the 21st, at 15:00 pm, at the Municipal Library of Mértola, the book “Memories of Exile” by Ana Aranha and Carlos Ademar with Cláudio Torres will be presented.
The final year students of the 1st cycle of the Mértola school are the protagonists of the initiative “From the little ones to the big ones”, a reading session for adults, which takes place on the 23rd, at 21 pm, at the Cineteatro Marques Duque.
As is traditional in the town of Mértola, on the 25th of April at 10:00 am, departing from Avenida Aureliano Mira Fernandes, the Freedom Race will take place, an action promoted by the City Council and by the Parish Council of Mértola
