O Forum on the Environment of the Alentejo Coast (FALA), organized by a civic group with local environmental concerns, returns to Vila Nova de Milfontes, for the second consecutive year, between 27 and 29 April.
Glyphosates and oil exploration will be the focus of this Forum, as they are “core themes for the region”, stresses the organization of FALA.
Over the three days of the Forum, there will be a diversified socio-cultural program, which includes an associative fair, where local artisans participate, as well as associations that promote good environmental practices, as well as musical shows, where the highlight will be the Sebastião concert Antunes.
The program also includes initiatives to protect and enhance local resources, through a cleaning of Malhão beach, on Saturday, and a walk to recognize edible wild plants, on Sunday.
On Saturday, the 28th, at 15 pm, at the College of Nossa Senhora da Graça, there will be a round table that will make it possible to take stock of the situation regarding the exploitation of oil and pesticides, namely glyphosates.
The round table will feature the participation of PALP – Platform Free Algarve do Petróleo, José Alberto Guerreiro, Mayor of Odemira, Filipa Mateus de Almeida, agronomist, and Angela Rosa, from Tavira em Transição and Organic Shanti , to discuss these themes.
