The “Journey on Addictive Behaviors and Addictions in the Algarve – 30 years of intervention” will take place on the 24th and 25th of May, at the Teresa Gamito Amphitheater, on the Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve (UAlg), in Faro. 

Coinciding with the commemoration of 30 years of intervention in the area of ​​addictive behaviors and addictions in the Algarve, the days begin with a table entitled “From foundation to actuality”.

The speakers will be Álvaro Pereira, General and Family Medicine doctor at the Algarve's Weaning Unit, João Goulão, general director of the Service for Intervention in Additive Behaviors and Dependencies (SICAD), and Paulo Morgado, president of the Board of Directors Regional Health (ARS) of the Algarve.

These days, aimed at students, health professionals and technicians from all partner entities, aim to disseminate health structures, intervention projects and research carried out in the area, as well as strengthen ties between regional entities operating within the referral and articulation network, in the context of addictive behaviors and dependencies.

The initiative is organized by the Division of Intervention in Additive Behaviors and Dependencies (DICAD) of ARS Algarve and by the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of UAlg.
