The Municipality of Olhão will carry out a general disinfestation campaign against rats and cockroaches in May. The works will take place throughout the county until the 18th.
According to the municipality of Olhão, "the actions will focus mainly on the network of public collectors and places of disposal of urban waste and are intended to control pests and not their extermination."
«In the case of interventions against rats, and given the toxicity of the baits, it is not possible to apply them on the ground. The baits are only applied inside the sewage networks, to prevent accidents from occurring with children or pets.
The works will be carried out by Ambiolhão, which “cannot intervene in areas of private domain, such as plots under construction, vacant houses, or private land”.
Thus, the municipality suggests that "owners of commercial spaces, houses and managers of condominium companies may coordinate the disinfestation of their respective properties for the same periods, in order to improve the effectiveness of treatments, both in private and public areas », consulting the days and areas that will be intervened on the map below.
