Folar is once again “king” in São Marcos da Serra

The 30th edition of the Folar Fair of S. Marcos da Serra takes place from March 1th to April XNUMXst, in that locality of the municipality of Silves. 

This event brings together «traditional producers of folar and other mountain delicacies in an event that seeks to promote the interior of the county and popular culture, conveying the know-how of local people, their traditions, gastronomy and handicraft and involving agents and community representatives local,” says the Municipality of Silves.

"S. Marcos da Serra, due to its particular characteristics, is a parish in the municipality of Silves, known for the manufacture of bread and “Folar”, the most traditional Easter sweet, sweet and scented with cinnamon and fennel, decorated with whole eggs and made from a leavened dough with baker's yeast», he adds.

The initiative has the usual support of the local Parish Council, Serrano Futebol Clube, the Humanitarian Association of S. Marcos and the Mutual Agricultural Credit Bank of São Bartolomeu de Messines and São Marcos da Serra and the Algarve Tourism Region.

There will be street entertainment every day. Admission is free.
