The urbanization works of the José Guerreiro Gomes subdivision, in Penha, were awarded this week by the Chamber of Faro. The purpose of this work is to carry out the work of exterior arrangements for the subdivision, including landscape architecture, paving and rainwater drainage.

The works were awarded to “Sociedade José Quintino, Lda.”, for 67,4 euros, and will be a “complement to the intervention in Praceta Aleixo da Cunha, fully reclassified by the municipality at the end of 2017.

The Chamber of Faro emphasizes that “Penha has been deserving great attention from the local authority, seeking to ensure that this important area of the city receives the necessary qualification, from the urban, aesthetic point of view and from the point of view of car and pedestrian traffic. With this operation, we will give more quality of life to those who live or work there».

The intervention is included in the Program Faro Requalifica, municipal works plan to improve the road network and public spaces in the city and parishes.

This plan was launched by the municipality in 2015 and, according to the Chamber, "has made it possible to inject around one million euros a year into this type of work."
