The 2nd stage of the European Skating Cup will take place in Lagos between the 6th and 8th of April. The “Terras do Infante” trophy will take around 600 skaters from at least 16 countries to the city of Lacobrigens.

According to the Roller de Lagos Club, “spectacular competitions, incredible attendances and a lot of emotion” are expected in this trophy. On Friday, the 6th, and on Saturday, the 7th, there will be sessions in the morning, afternoon and evening, on the track at Escola Júlio Dantas. The 25-kilometer race is scheduled for Sunday, which will include a circuit that will pass through Avenida dos Descobrimentos, in addition to other arteries in the municipality of Lagos.

According to the organizers of the event, «there are already close to 550 registered skaters, with a week left before registration, with 16 countries confirmed and numerous stars of the international squad».

The Roller de Lagos Club highlights, among those enrolled, the Belgian «Sandrine Tas, considered one of the best skaters in the world today, from the professional Powerslide Matter Racing team, who has a fabulous curriculum and who, only in 2017, was runner-up World Championship 20Km, gold medal at the World Games in Poland, two-time European champion of 300m and relays and fifth individual European vice-champion, in a total of 17 medals in the three biggest events of the previous year».

Also participating in the trophy will be the Spanish Sheila Posada, European vice-champion and current leader of the World Cup Marathons ranking, Vanhoutte and Vos, Belgian, European relay champions, and the French Halbout, Pouydebat, Lefeuvre and Italian-Germanic Woolaway.

played in Lagos in 2017, with high praise for the organization, entrusted and awarded the 2nd stage of the European Cup to the city of Lacobrigense.

In the male elite, Diogo Marreiros, from Roller Lagos and the BONT professional team, winner of the 2017 European Cup in bottom and second in speed, will be opposed by Elton de Souza, French, competing in the colors of the professional team MX Takino MPC . Souza was gold medalist at the World Games – Poland, in the 15-kilometer race to eliminate on the track, winner of the 2017 European Cup in speed and second in depth. The Portuguese will also have Valentin Thibault as his opponent, representing the professional team of Powerslide Matter Racing, bi-World Junior Champion in 2017, now in his debut year in Seniors/Elites.

The Roller de Lagos also highlights the presence of the Belgians Indra Medard and Thomas Voste, the Frenchmen Pedicone and Lhomme and the European champion in relays, the Belgian Tim Sibiet.
