The Silvense Philharmonic Society (SFS) celebrates its 85th anniversary with a concert this Saturday, March 10, from 21 pm, at the Casa da Cultura Islâmica e Mediterrânica, in Silves.
The Coral Group and the Ensemble of the Escola de Música of the Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense join the concert.
The Philharmonic approved its statutes in 1933 with the name of Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense, and the current collective was born. He has already had a Folklore Ranch (1981) and The Amador Theater Group – O Gruta (1981). Since November 1998, it has also dynamized the Coral Group, which has around 30 members.
The Silvense Philharmonic Society is a cultural association with public utility. In addition to the Philharmonic Band, with around 35 members, this association runs a music school, with free education, open to all young people from 8 years old on.
