The Arimbo track, in the middle of Serra do Caldeirão, will be this weekend the stage for the 2nd Stage of the Portuguese Downhill Cup.

The most important competition in the sport starts this Friday, March 16, with a route that puts the skill of the participants to the test.

Until Sunday, the 18th, around 250 athletes from 12 countries, from Russia to Australia, passed by several European countries, will be present in this competition, which is already recognized among fans of the sport. Among the many athletes, some of the world's elite pilots will be present.

The 2nd stage of the 2018 Portugal Downhill Cup starts on Friday, March 16, at 14 pm, with the opening of the track for walking recognition and free practice.

On Saturday, the 17th, in the morning, free practice will take place, while the first competitions will take place between 14:00 and 18:00.

On Sunday, the 18th, training takes place between 9:00 am and 10:30 am, followed by the qualifying heats, which last until the afternoon, culminating in the disputed podium.

«The scenery and conditions offered by the territory of São Brasense, close to the sea and with open doors to the Serra do Caldeirão, are conducive to the practice of downhill and annually attract hundreds of athletes who have returned for pre-season internships, with a view to better preparation for international championships», stresses the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel.

Organized by the Portuguese Cycling Federation, this event has the local organization of the Xdream Blásius Association and the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel.
