French tourist unconscious on the beach in Ferragudo transported to the Hospital

A 68-year-old French tourist, who slipped and fell, hit his head and became unconscious, on rocks at the foot of Castelo do Arade, in Ferragudo, was this morning helped by the lifeguard crew and then transported to the hospital of Portimão.

The alert arrived at the Lifesaving Station of the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos de Ferragudo at 10:45 am, indicating that there was an unconscious victim. The lifeguard crew "immediately moved to the scene, having provided first aid and simultaneously alerted 112, as well as the picket of the Maritime Police of Portimão."

The victim, who «had bruises on the lower limbs and head, being unconscious at the beginning of the rescue», will have slipped on the rocks when he was engaged in the playful picking of limpets.

Assisted on the spot by the Lagoa Volunteer Fire Department, the injured French tourist was then transported to the Portimão unit of the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário do Algarve.
