Seven men and two women were arrested for drug trafficking, in Faro, Loulé, Boliqueime and Albufeira, has just announced the Public Ministry (MP).
All "are suspected of dedicating themselves to the safekeeping and sale of narcotic products", says the MP.
House searches were also carried out, and products suspected of being heroin and cocaine were seized.
According to the MP, one of the defendants was "released for not verifying the requirements for applying other coercive measures in addition to the term of identity and residence".
The others were presented yesterday, February 22, to the criminal investigation judge for questioning. Five were in preventive detention and the remaining three were subject to coercive measures of obligation to report weekly to the authorities and prohibition of contact with people involved in drug trafficking.
The inquiry will continue its terms in the 2nd section of Faro the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action.
