José Gameiro, scientific director of the Portimão Museum and president of the European Museum of the Year international jury, will be honored by the Praia da Rocha Rotary Club, on February 20, at 20:30 pm.
The Tribute and Professional Recognition will take place during a festive dinner at the Hotel Júpiter, in Praia da Rocha.
The Rotary Club considers that José Gameiro «is distinguished by his ethics, professionalism and dedication».
The Rotarians of Praia da Rocha recall that «Professor José Gameiro has a distinguished professional career, he coordinated the Installation Committee of the Museum of Portimão and has been its main driver ever since».
The honoree «is currently president of the European Museum of the Year Jury, being, to date, the only Portuguese person to hold this high position. The Portimão Museum has been one of the most awarded in Portugal and was distinguished in 2010 with the Council of Europe Museum Award».
