A "great cleaning action" on Ilha Deserta, in Faro, is scheduled for the next 18th of February, Sunday, between 10:00 and 17:00.

The initiative, organized by Straw Patrol, in conjunction with the maritime-tourist company ANIMARIS and the Center for Biology Students of the University of Algarve (NEBUA), will take place throughout the morning and afternoon, with volunteers being able to choose different shifts.

The transport of Faro to Ilha Deserta, and back to the city, it is free and guaranteed by the organization.

However, as places are limited, registration is required.

The meeting point will be the embarkation pier for Faro and volunteers can choose to depart for the island at 9:50 am, 12:00 pm or 13:30 pm. The return can be made at 14:30 pm, 16:00 pm or 17:30 pm.

Registration must be made by email to [email protected] indicating the name and the desired times.

The organization recommends that volunteers bring comfortable shoes, a hat, water and a snack/lunch. More information can be obtained. here.
