A doctor from the Albufeira Health Center will be transferred, temporarily, to the Guia Health Extension, to compensate for the lack of an absent doctor for health reasons, to "minimize" the problems that exist there, guaranteed the Government, in the answer to a question put to it by the PCP, in the Assembly of the Republic.

In January, the communist deputy elected by Algarve Paulo Sá and his bench colleague Carla Cruz questioned the Government about the problems of lack of human resources in the Health Extensions of Olhos de Água, Guia, Ferreiras and Paderne, all belonging to to the Albufeira Health Centre.

Within these units, the one experiencing the most difficult situation, revealed the PCP, is Guia, where, contrary to what happens in the others, not all users have a family doctor assigned. And if there were already 411 people enrolled in this valence without a doctor, the prolonged absence of a doctor with 1550 people on her list only made the situation worse.

The relocation of a doctor from the Albufeira Health Center was the solution found by the Government to mitigate this problem.

The Ministry of Health added that, with regard to the reinforcement of doctors, a new admission competition will be launched "by the end of the first half of 2018".

Meanwhile, says the tutelage, "nurses are being placed in the various health centers of the central ACES, including the units that belong to the Albufeira Health Center."

In the presentation that framed the questions it asked, in January, the PCP also denounced several problems of lack of technical assistance and degradation and lack of equipment, and questioned the tutelage on the measures it planned to take.

"As for the technical assistants, a mobility tender procedure was opened" to try to recruit more of these health professionals for the central area of the Algarve," explained the Ministry of Health.
